2025: DECLINE IN CAR NEW REGISTRATIONS - GROWTH IN REPAIRS

In 2025, the Italian market will continue the trend seen in 2024, with 1.52 million new registrations, a further decline of 2.1% compared to 2024.

The used car market, on the other hand, will increase by 4.1% over the previous year, resulting in a decline in the average age of the vehicle fleet, which reached an average of 13 years at the end of the previous year.

Uncertainty surrounding the electric car market and reduced spending power, combined with the increase in the average selling price of new vehicles, have led 2025 to once again be considered a transition year.

The aftermarket sector, however, remains stable, with increases in the sale of engine and undercar components and declines in electronic and body components.

Against this backdrop of an aging car fleet, it's clear that vehicle repair and maintenance are growing trends, and the turbocharger sector, both new and remanufactured, reflects this trend.

The first months of 2026 appear to be following the previous year's trend, predicting further growth in the turbocharged sector in the coming years.

Globally, the turbocharged sector is expected to exceed 70% of all vehicles on the road, over 80% of which will be variable geometry turbochargers for gasoline engines, due to the growing demand for solutions to optimize efficiency and meet emissions standards.
